Race to the Border 2017

The 7th running of the Biennial Race to the Border is approaching fast! If you're looking for some time offshore followed by some good times and camaraderie in an awesome location, this race is for you!

Whether you're looking to break a record or just enjoy moonlit sailing, this race appeals to both competitive racers and cruisers alike. There are race classes to fit everyone, including the power boat guys looking to take a trip down the ditch.

Galveston Bay Cruising Association (GBCA) and Laguna Madre Yacht Club

It typically takes about two and a half days to arrive in South Padre, Texas. This is a great way for family and crew to get offshore long enough to settle into a watch schedule and really get a good taste of offshore sailing. Combine that with a destination like South Padre with a multitude of activities and attractions to enjoy, and you will have an event to remember!
If you are looking to gain some true offshore experience with safety in numbers, this race is for you!
